Activities at the
Mercer Senior Center

Participants are concentrating and ready to win at one of our Senior Game Days

Meal Program:

Due to the coronavirus, congregate meals are not being served at the Center at this time. The new procedure is as follows:

  • Review the monthly menu and order number of meals for each day at least 24 hours in advance. The Center may be called mornings at 715-476-2113, or you can leave a message in Hurley at 1-800-950-8744. Even though the Center is not holding congregate meals, meals may be picked up from 11:30 am until noon on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays. Your suggested donation of $4 per person per day may be put in the money container when you pick up the meal.

  • For home-delivered meals, meals will be delivered as in the past and you may continue to pay directly as in the past. Checks should be made payable to ICHS.

  • If you know someone who may need congregate or home-delivered meals, please call the cook, David Walta, mornings at the Center at 715-476-2113. If you have any questions or need further help, please call Dorothy Wahner at 414-339-2902.

Cribbage: - Cribbage is currently on hold due to Coronavirus. When it resumes it will again be each Friday from 9:30 to 11:30am

Cribbage is usually played each Friday from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. Please contact Dorothy Wahner (414-339-2902) or Judy Bugni (715-476-3511) if you are interested in joining us.

Senior Game Days:  Senior Game Days are cancelled until further notice

Senior Game Days are held monthly January through May, usually on the last Sunday of the month. The games are sponsored by the Mercer Lioness Club which provides lunch (soups, chili, appetizers and desserts) before playing games and winning prizes.

Senior Game Days are free to all seniors (60 and over). Doors open at 11:30am; lunch is served at 12:15pm; and games are played from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.

Dates for 2020 will be listed below if they resume.

Pancake Breakfasts:

The Mercer Senior Center has cancelled its last two Pancake Breakfasts to be held in August and September.

Thanks to everyone for your past support and we look forward to seeing you again in 2021.

For information, call Dorothy Wahner at 414-339-2902.

Spring and Fall Cleanup:

In May and September the Board holds a clean-up day to prepare the Center for the summer events and busy schedule and then a cleanup before winter.

Our Spring Cleanup was delayed by COVID-19 so please join us on Thursday, July 2nd from 9-11. Extra hands lighten the work.

Questions? Call President Dorothy Wahner at 414-339-2902. Hope to see you there!
