The 2023 Membership Drive is Underway

We’re nearing the end of another year in which the Mercer Senior Center continued to serve and support our mission through companionship, friendship, and nutrition.

This year the Center has provided over 4245 meals to seniors in our area. This includes dine-in meals, pick-up meals and home delivered meals.  We are fortunate to have dedicated staff provided by the Aging Unit, Tawnya Spriggs Kagus, Jim Amerson, and Laurel Garbe, as well as volunteers who help out with the dine-in service.

The Senior Center Pancake Breakfast Fundraisers continue to be important opportunities to bring the community together and to raise funds for the Senior Center.  Thank you to all of the volunteers and guests who supported the Center by working and attending.

Senior Center volunteers have been busy improving the building with the installation of a handicap accessible door and new kitchen equipment. This year we plan to replace the existing windows with energy efficient models, make the entry-way more inviting, and work on the landscaping. It’s ambitious, and we hope we can count on your support to make our plans become reality.

Two years ago, the Senior Center launched the Mercer Senior Center Friends. Our organization is a separate 501(3)(c) non-profit group designed to be the fundraising arm of the Senior Center to help with expenses above and beyond the budget.  We currently have over 80 members and we hope to grow to 100 members in 2023. We are very fortunate to have such generous residents, both part-time and full-time, that support our mission.

This year, as we embark upon our third annual membership drive, we ask you to join us as a 2023 member of the Mercer Senior Center Friends. We hope that you value the Center as an important resource for the community and will consider making a special year-end contribution.
