Midweek Mingle & Learn May Lineup
The Mercer Senior Center invites adults of all ages to join us for presentations designed to inform and inspire through the Midweek Mingle & Learn series. Sessions are held every Wednesday in May from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Mercer Senior Center, 2518 Martha Lake Road.
Guests are welcome to stay for lunch provided by the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of the North. Lunch reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance by calling 715-561-2108 ext. 1.
Upcoming May Topics and Speakers:
• May 7 – Home Brew 101: Tap into the Craft
Join seasoned home brewer Bob Burton as he shares the essentials of brewing your own beer. Learn about the equipment, ingredients, and step-by-step processes that turn simple ingredients into a delicious craft beverage. This fun session is perfect whether you’re curious about the basics or ready to start brewing your own beer.
• May 14 – Walk with Ease
The Aging and Disability Resource Center of the North introduces the Walk with Ease program to Mercer. Starting in June, this weekly walking program is designed to help reduce pain, improve balance, increase strength, and build confidence. Learn more about how you can participate— all fitness levels are welcome.
• May 21 – Discover Fe University: Where Curiosity Never Retires
Wendy Thiede, president and founder of Fe University, shares the story behind this innovative learning program and how it brings adults 50+ together for engaging college-level courses in Wisconsin’s Northwoods.
• May 28 – Hospice 101: Compassionate Care for Patients and Families
What is hospice care, and when is it needed? Talitha Uhrmann, Compassus Hospice Care Consultant, offers a clear overview of the illnesses that may lead to a hospice referral and how hospice programs support both patients and their loved ones.
