March Midweek Mingle & Learn Presentations

The Mercer Senior Center Friends invite community members to its March lineup of Midweek Mingle & Learn presentations, a free Wednesday morning series offering creativity, connection, and learning for adults of all ages.

All programs take place on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. at the Northwoods Hub, 2518 Martha Lake Road, and are free unless otherwise noted.

March 4, 2026  Feel the Beat: Discovering Community Drum Circles
Explore the power of recreational music-making to support mental, physical, spiritual, and community wellness. Kathy Messenger introduces the concept of community drum circles and shares how rhythmic connection can reduce stress, build energy, and bring people together. A variety of instruments will be available for attendees to try as participants experience the joy of making music in community.

March 11, 2026  Ask ADRC: Answers, Resources & Support for Living Well
Trista Olson, ADRC/Aging Manager, will discuss the wide range of services available through the Aging and Disability Resource Center and answer audience questions. Learn about local programs that support older adults, adults with disabilities, caregivers, and families. Topics may include maintaining independence, long-term care options, Medicare and Medicaid resources, Social Security benefits, transportation, nutrition programs, dementia care resources, and other community support.

March 18, 2026  Stronger Together: Medication Safety & NARCAN Awareness
Daniel Mueller, RN, Community Health Nurse with the Iron County Health Department, provides an overview of NARCAN and overdose response while addressing important medication safety topics. Learn how body changes, prescriptions, chronic pain, and surgery can affect medication use, along with practical tips for safe storage, organization, and proper disposal. Gain knowledge that helps keep you, your family, and our community safe.

March 25, 2026  Bloom & Frost: Spring Cookie Decorating Class
Join Tina Werderman for a fun, hands-on cookie decorating class. Participants will learn the basics of icing techniques while decorating beautifully designed spring cookies step by step. All supplies are provided, along with instructions and recipes so you can continue creating at home. The fee for this class is $10, and registration is limited. The Midweek Mingle & Learn series reflects its commitment to lifelong learning, wellness, and community connection for adults across the region.

Guests are welcome to remain after each program for lunch provided by the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of the North. Lunch reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance by calling 715-561-2108 ext. 1.
